Jan has been involved in the Financial Record Keeping Programme (FRK Programme) of the Department of Agriculture (DOA) in the Western Cape Province for 45 farming businesses since 2016.

During this time he fulfilled the following duties:

• Advisory on challenges and proposed solutions
• Assist farmers with calculation of production cost and production methods
• Assist farmers with business plans for funding purposes
• Assist farmers with obtaining funding
• Assist farmers with legal and compliance matters
• Part of annual training
• Attend annual meetings and explanation of financial reports
• Assist office with technical questions and solutions
